Job Description
We are currently seeking experienced Commercial Officers to join our teams in Bristol and Yeovil. If you have experience in running and supporting procurements for Air, Sea, Land, or Strategic Enabling Projects, we encourage you to apply now!
This is a great opportunity to start or advance your career in the Civil Service. We have a wide range of roles available within both DE&S and SDA, working on projects in support of the British Armed Forces. These projects cover everything from disaster relief and reconstruction to peacekeeping and humanitarian aid.
Please note that some positions may only be open to Sole UK Nationals and successful applicants may need to pass Developed Vetting clearance.

Responsibilities
- Developing Invitation to Tender documentation, negotiating terms, pricing, and placing contracts up to £2.5M in accordance with Ministry of Defence policy.
- Supporting the development of new Procurement Strategies through market analysis and collaboration with other teams in DE&S.
- Managing Category A-D contracts and ensuring contract obligations are met.
- Monitoring supplier performance in accordance with Contract Management Plans.
- Contributing to wider Commercial function and business improvement activities.
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Managing staff, providing advice, coaching, and development.
Person Specification
To be successful, you must meet the following essential criteria:
- Previous experience in sourcing, delivering, and managing contracts.
- The ability to manage staff and provide support and advice on development.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office or equivalent.
