Parish Clerk & RFO
Job Description
The Parish Council is looking for a new Clerk, who will also be the Responsible Financial Officer. The post is for 11 hours per week x 52 weeks.
Although experience of working in local government is desirable it is not essential. Training is available through the Essex Association of Local Councils. The Parish Council has a training budget and would also apply for appropriate bursaries to meet the cost of training.
The council meets at Bradwell on Sea Village Hall on the third Monday of the month 10 times a year (no meeting January or August) and the Clerk is expected to attend these meetings.
Duties will include:
• minute taking
• preparing agendas and documents for the Parish Council meetings
• preparing and receiving correspondence on behalf of the Council
• helping the council set its budget
• maintaining accurate accounts
• advising councillors on matters relating to Council business
• maintaining the Parish Council website

Apart from attending the Parish Council meetings, the Clerk works their hours to suit their circumstances which make this an ideal job for someone with family commitments or maybe seeking additional income.
