Internship, Tax, Core Tax, Cambridge, Summer 2024
We assist our clients in staying ahead of changes that impact their businesses by navigating complexity and risk. Our team delivers deep tax technical, people, and legal expertise while offering critical context to make informed and compliant decisions.
We work with a diverse range of clients, from multinational organizations and public sector bodies to entrepreneurs and family businesses.
In our Core Tax program, you will help clients manage their tax risk, understand their obligations, and comply with complex legislation. This includes working on multinational advisory projects, providing mergers and acquisitions advice, handling tax compliance, and researching business issues that affect clients' tax affairs. You may also work on interpreting developments in case law, the implications of expanding into new territories or introducing new products. In some cases, you may be involved in purely UK activities, while in others, you will work on global projects, focusing on improving internal processes or assisting with mergers and acquisitions.
Our summer internships provide valuable insight into PwC's business and culture. You will have the opportunity to experience work and life at PwC, collaborate with experienced professionals on real client projects, and take advantage of unparalleled opportunities for learning and growth.
As part of our Core Tax program, you will rotate across our Direct and Indirect Tax teams in the first two years of your PwC journey. In the third year, you will align with a specific area of our Tax practice. In Direct Tax, you will help clients manage their tax risk and comply with complex legislation, working with a wide range of clients, including FTSE 100 companies, global organizations, entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and family businesses. In our Indirect Tax practice, you may be involved in advising clients on the VAT implications of their UK activities or working on a global project examining the clients' supply chain. You may also consider the impact of case law developments or provide guidance on mergers and acquisitions.
By joining us, you will learn about our business, build your networks, and collaborate with specialists in your chosen business area. You will receive on-the-job training that prepares you for work on client projects, giving you valuable insight into what we do and what matters to our clients, the economy, and the wider community. Our internships are designed to launch your career, and based on your performance, you may have the opportunity to join one of our Graduate Programs after graduation. The offers for our Graduate Programs will be for the same office and business area where you completed your internship.
To be eligible for our program, you must be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a confirmed one-year postgraduate place. You must have achieved or be on track to pass an undergraduate degree or above in any subject. We assess your progress based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.
Applications will be accepted until [date], and if selected, you will be invited to an assessment center between [dates]. We aim to provide at least one week's notice for attendance. However, please note that applications may close early if we receive a high volume of interest, so we encourage you to apply promptly to avoid disappointment.
