Job Description


Bloomberg News is currently hiring for the position of Data Visualisation Reporter in London. As part of this role, you will be responsible for covering news stories in real-time and presenting data-driven insights through various visual forms such as charts, maps, and diagrams. We are looking for individuals who are motivated to help readers understand news events through the creation of clear and informative graphics. Additionally, we value team players who can contribute to our newsroom coverage in a timely manner.

In addition to working with the London team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Bloomberg News Data Visualisation colleagues located in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Using your curiosity, technical skills, and design abilities to create informative graphics in response to both planned and unplanned news events
  • Collaborating with team members and colleagues to report on news events as they unfold, identifying opportunities for data and visual storytelling
  • Working efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Having experience or interest in topics relevant to Bloomberg News coverage, such as business, finance, markets, economics, technology, and government, and being eager to develop subject-matter expertise in these areas

Requirements for this position:

  • A strong sense of visual design, layout, and typography
  • Familiarity with design software, including Adobe Illustrator and Figma
  • Experience reporting and crafting visual narratives with data
  • Experience with data reporting, including the ability to collect, manage, analyze, and manipulate data from various sources using programming languages such as R or Python
  • Experience with front-end web development is preferred but not required

You will have the support of editors and journalists from our global graphics team, but your ability to apply your skills and take ownership of critical stories will be crucial.
