Electrical Testing Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking an Electrical Testing Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Supervisor/Contract Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as a strong technical knowledge of the electrical industry, are essential for this role. Working hours are Monday-Friday from 08.00-17.00, with the possibility of weekend work and overtime upon request.
As an Electrical Testing Engineer, your main responsibilities will include carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs, servicing, inspecting, and testing. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and rectifying faults, conducting electrical remedial works, and performing new electrical inspections. Additionally, you will be required to handle reactive electrical works, emergency lighting inspections and repairs, and any other company works as necessary, always maintaining the highest level of customer care and promoting a positive external perception of the company.
Adhering to company procedures and policies to ensure smooth service delivery is crucial, as is producing accurate reports in a timely manner. You will also be expected to comply with the company's quality management system and responsibly recycle materials. A valid UK Driving Licence is required for this role.
Key skills and qualifications for this position include experience in electrical repair, maintenance, servicing, and installations, preferably within the public sector. Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials commonly used in the Electrical Trade is also important. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary, as well as the ability to interpret schematics and electrical drawings. Proficiency in IT is essential. A commitment to providing excellent customer service is expected.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including 23 days of annual leave (increasing to 25 days after two years of employment), a buy and sell holiday scheme, access to a pension scheme, a company vehicle and fuel card, and a company phone and tablet device. All necessary plant tools are provided, and additional compensation is offered for evening, weekend, and bank holiday work. There is also the option to participate in the out-of-hours call out rota with additional standby and callout pay. Flexible working arrangements may be available upon agreement.
